Are your employees medically fit ?

Companies have undergone a rapid growth in the rec3ent years, despite many obstacle .a major factor the development of any organization , is the human resource. This is the only resource spread all over the organization. A healthy resource can consequently land in healthy productivity and higher efficiency . companies are experiencing, majority of leaves , for medical purposes. Absenteeism leads to loss of human resource , work , efficiency, commitment , performance, desired results and deviation in pre determined plans, stranded work,etc

Employees of IT companies , call centres and BPO's are availing their accrued leaves as they are facing a common problem like eye strain, nervous disorders, back pain, defective hearing , physical and mental stress.

HR Managers and Training managers had arranged stress management programmes as a part of their training activity to reduce work stress in the work environment.

Of late, companies in Bangalore, have started to switch off the lights of the working atmosphere and provide a power nap of 40 minutes or 1hr a day to its employees.

This increases efficiency and reduces lethargyness. The above practice seems to be feasible for some companies . For IT companies , HR managers have come up with an idea to provide 15 minutes break for every employee working continuously on the computer.

This has provided ample scope for the HR managers to enhance the efficiency in the given time. Few critics, cite that in between breaks may increase in the normal working 8 hours/ day.

Consequently , the work / pay may decrease with every increase in breaks. To avoid this , managers are debating and discussing , whether to extend the working hours, by amending the respective act, or to reduce the breaks given.

A few medical practioners have suggested periodical medical check ups would be better with the normal breaks given, rather than to augment the breaks.

Among the employees some may be vulnerable and invulnerable for minor or major epidemics. Employees health has been the core and keen interest of the management to reduce absenteeism , to maintain efficiency and effectiveness. This necessitates the need for periodical examination of the employees. Training are provided on aspects of diet to it's employees, as a part of their training curriculum.

General check ups , medical camps are conducted in the premise and quality check on the food served in the companies for different shifts, ensure the maintenance of health employees in the organization.

Medical examination is necessary in every organization to ensure a Healthy workforce.
